Plan to Vote, and encourage family, friends and everyone you meet at every opportunity to get out and vote – IT HAS TO BE TOO BIG TO RIG! There are different opinions about what to do, but make a plan. 

  • BANK YOUR VOTE, request an absentee ballot, then vote as close to 11/5 as possible – in person.   (Do Not open your absentee if you plan to ‘Spoil it” and vote in person). Ballots should arrive between October 8th and 15th.
  • Do NOT drop your absentee ballot in the regular USPS Mail or even leave in a drop box if you can help it!
  • If you prefer vote absentee – hand deliver to elections office (1117 Eisenhower Ave) on Election Day.

Hi, this is Sandy. I’m a precinct chair in Chatham County, GA<br />Want conservative leaders? It starts at the grassroots level.<br />This presentation explains <br /><br />The Chatham County republican party (CCRP) leadership structure and<br />Why it’s important to show up at the March 11th, 2023 County convention.<br /><br />First, there are many laws/rules that govern the overall activity of the local GOP, <br />The focus of this presentation is on the local, county by-laws<br /><br />Who is in charge?<br />Who controls the direction of the activities of the local GOP?<br />The By-Laws spell out the leadership positions and provide some job descriptions<br /><br />The By-Laws also states that the members of the county committee are the ones who make decisions.<br />Two types of voting members:<br />1. Executive board members<br />2. All other voting members<br />Let’s focus first on the Precinct Chairs<br /><br />Only neighbors who show up in person on 2/11/23 can vote for their precinct officers and delegates.<br /><br />Precinct Chair's are voting members of the county committee, but do not sit on the executive board.<br />Only about half the # of the Precincts have an elected Precinct Chair in Chatham County.<br /><br />Going back to all decision-makers and let's now focus on the executive board members.<br /><br />New executive officers will be voted in at the county convention on March 11th<br />Chair, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Vice Chair, Secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer, and assistant treasurer.<br /><br />Only delegates voted in on Feb 11th get to vote for the local GOP leadership at the county convention on march 11th.<br /><br />Current list of executive board leaders.<br />The executive officers make decisions for all the activities of the CCRP, such as access to voter data, the selection of committee assignments, access to precinct organization tools, and even appointments to the Chatham County board of elections.<br /><br />A new slate of leaders will be decided on 3/11/23<br />Anyone wishing to run for an Executive position must submit a resume to the Secretary by Feb 27th. The information will be vetted by the nominating committee. <br /><br />Another key category of executive board members is the district chairs.<br />Only PCs can vote for their respective district chair.<br /><br />The 8 district chair positions correspond with the 8 districts in Chatham County.<br /><br />The bylaws spell out the timeline for the election of the district chairs.<br />The rules state that the vote can be taken <br />Right after the precinct meeting is over on Feb 11th <br /><br />The very first vote a PC makes is to elect the district chair as an executive board member for the CCRP.<br />And it could take place on Feb 11th<br /><br />The vote for DC must take place by the recess of the county convention on 3/11/23. <br />it's important to select a conservative district chair.<br /><br />The timeline comes from Item D, article II county organization of the by-laws<br /><br />Your involvement is needed NOW more than ever. The Chatham County, GA GOP leadership structure and why it’s important to show up Mar 11th, 2023.
This video will give an overview of what to expect at the Precinct Caucus Meeting on Saturday, February 11th, 2023. <br /><br />What is a Precinct Caucus?<br />The Precinct meeting is the first in a series of meetings where GOP leaders are elected. The meetings are governed by a complicated set of rules, planning documents, and By-Laws. This is my attempt to explain the Precinct meeting in plain English.<br /><br />Anyone from the community can attend, but to participate there are 2 requirements:<br /><br />Requirements <br />1. Registered voter in Chatham County, GA (Bring a copy of your Georgia Voter Precinct Card with you. You can obtain that by going to the Georgia Secretary of State's Office's MyVoterPage Website. See my resource below: How to Read Your Georgia Voter Precinct Card.<br />2. In accordance with the Republican Party principles (Go to the home page of the Chatham County Republican Party's website)<br /><br />There are 2 main items of business that will take place:<br />Each precinct, separately, will vote on these two items (by Majority vote). Since there are approx. 100 precincts within Chatham county, there could be up to 100 separate huddles where people vote on these 2 things:<br /><br />1. Elect Precinct Delegates/Alternates to County Convention (held March 11th)<br />2. Elect Precinct Officers (Precinct Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer)<br /><br />Another item:<br />Attendees expressed interest in participating in either the GOP District and/or State Conventions<br /><br />Now more than ever, we need courageous, coordinated conservatives to flood this meeting on Saturday, February 11th. <br /><br />The meeting will be held at Employability. 7209 Seawright Drive Savannah, GA 31406. Our Republic functions best when many citizens invest in civic activities, including politics. This basic overview of Georgia politics and the GOP structure will help you understand why your role as a grassroots GOP volunteer is so important.<br /><br />I was elected a Precinct Chair at the Mass Caucus meeting in March 2021 in Savannah, GA. Overview of Georgia Political Organization and the Republican Party Structure (Chatham County)
Why You Should Attend the GOP Precinct Caucus Meeting Saturday, February 11th, 2023 <br /><br />Every two years the Georgia GOP (Republican Party) holds meetings where leaders are elected. The Chatham County Republican Party is holding its Precinct Caucus meeting Saturday, February 11th, 2023. Other larger counties across the state will hold this meeting on the same day. <br /><br />At the Precinct Caucus or Mass Meeting, you will meet with others in your precinct (neighborhood) to elect precinct officers (two years terms). You will also elect delegates and alternates to your County Convention held on March 11th, 2023. <br /><br />The March meeting is also where the County GOP Leadership is elected as well as delegates and alternates to the District and State GOP conventions <br /><br />As of Jan 2023, according to the local GOP website, only HALF of the Precinct Chair positions are filled. There is plenty of opportunity for more conservatives to have a meaningful role within the local GOP. <br /><br />Why is Saturday, February 11th so important? <br /><br />Only neighbors who show up at this meeting can either vote for their PC OR present themselves as the Precinct Chair candidate AND get elected delegates/alternates. <br /> <br />The meeting will take place at the Employability Center located at 7209 Seawright Drive in Savannah, GA. Registrations start at 9 a.m.<br /><br />Your involvement is needed NOW more than ever.
